It is earth day today, “Tag der Erde.” Last year I was co-working on a beautiful non-profit first aid global homeschooling project. So, in response to the Covid-19 Crisis in 2020, we were part of an unprecedented coalition of over fifty environmental and education experts collaborating to launch The Earth School: 30 adventures for learners of all ages to discover, celebrate, and connect to nature. This global team came together under the guidance and support of TED-Ed and UNEP to design lessons for students of all levels and host Earth School when it matters the most.
SO WHAT DID I DO ON LAST YEAR´s EARTH DAY?
Young people were stuck inside, more disconnected from nature than ever before. Earth School encouraged young people to understand how wildlife and our ecosystems provide the foundations for a healthy planet and healthy people. It has been about carbon in the sky, climate change, and many other relevant topics.
I am super proud to have contributed to the plastic quest, and we had such a blast preparing it. Hopefully, most of the kids are back in nature by now and able to cherish our planet in a more post-pandemic world.
My all-time favorite is still this video you find below; please check it out, and, oh yes, happy Earth Day!
