Resolution time! Because what better way to start the year than with overcommitment? New year, new me, fasting, meditating, Marie Kondoing the sock drawers, and fantasizing about trekking the way of St. James. Then there’s LinkedIn’s own universe of resolutions:

  • This is the year I’ll post more original content.” (Translation: Overthinking and resharing a Forbes article instead.)
  • I’ll finally update my profile photo.” (Great plan—until it doesn’t happen.)
  • I’ll show my personality to my bio.” (And still end up with “passionate about leveraging synergies.”)
  • I’ll become a thought leader!” (Ok. Next, please.)

You can almost hear. “Fix You” humming in the background. (Thanks, Coldplay, but no thanks.)

The LinkedIn Resolution Dilemma

The majority of LinkedIn users share one resolution: to post more, to be audacious, to invest more time in sharing content, to lead and sell better. But let’s pause—post more what, exactly? Vague intentions like these are no different than promising to quit drinking, stop smoking, or go to the gym. They’re stereotypes that ignore the real challenge: success does not fall from the sky.

The pressure to produce can be overwhelming, and while good intentions are good, many find themselves stuck—overthinking, second-guessing, or retreating into safe territory like resharing an article. Sounds familiar?

Why Resolutions don’t (always) work

On LinkedIn, trends rise and fall like tides: one day, it’s vulnerable confessions of failure; the next, toddlers are crowned as mentors. Amid the noise, there seems to be little room for your own well-planned and carefully curated content—the immaculate and polished persona of your so called “personal brand” sometimes gets confused. Totally understandable.

But here’s where things get hopeful: it’s not about reinventing yourself or adapting to every trend. It’s about first getting your own act together.

Manifesting: A More Grounded Approach

Forget the resolutions. Manifesting isn’t about wishful thinking or lofty goals—it’s about communicating with clarity, decluttering and reframing your narratives, and focusing on your own career and leadership story to sustainably lead and sell better.

As 2025 begins, consider this:

Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious story?

What are your personal values, and how do they shape your leadership?

What are your goals for 2025, and how do they align with your purpose? How do the aspirations for the coming year align with the bigger picture of what you’re here to achieve?

Where are you in your career journey?Look at your current position. Are you where you want to be, or is it time to take the next step forward? Are you sure you are getting the credits you deserve for your work?

OK, I’ve Made It All About You—Now a Little About Me and My 2024

I extended my client base and transitioned into the high-stakes worlds of contemporary art and design. From hanging out at the Venice Biennale, Glasstress Murano, PAD Paris, Art Basel, Art Basel Paris, Zaventem Ateliers and Objects with Narratives Brussels to nourishing my creativity in exceptional spaces, it’s been incredibly inspiring. But at the end of the day, regardless of the industry, it’s still about making connections and driving results.

For 2025 I am happy to invite my German speaking clients and contacts to a unique on-site seminar in Munich I’ve co-designed with Stephanie Schorp, renowned for her groundbreaking work in executive search beyond headhunting and as the author of the book Persönlichkeit macht Karriere. Together, we’ve created a special package for our clients: https://lnkd.in/dNc58Fc4

I’m very grateful to everyone—clients, collaborators, mentors, mentees and sparring partners—who’ve been part of this journey.

Warm wishes,

Caroline
